In English and Spanish / En español e inglés
A charming and educational journey that will captivate young readers and create engaging opportunities to discuss the wonders of the ocean.
Droplet/Gotita waves Hello from a curly white cloud on a clear day, wishing she could visit the sea below to meet new friends. When her cloud turns a watery monsoon- gray, Droplet jumps off, embarking on a thrilling adventure through the water cycle and meeting sea-creatures in all the levels of the ocean—from a tropical lagoon and coral reef all the way down to the dark sea floor. Riding a krill to get back to the surface, she finds herself pushed from a whale’s blowhole into the sky and back to the clouds again. As she falls asleep under a cozy wisp of cloud-blanket, she dreams of giant sea creatures drifting across the night sky., Goodnight, little Droplet! •
¡Buenas noches, Gotita!
Droplet Visits the Ocean is a picture book introducing young children (ages 3-6) to the ocean, a collaboration a Professor of Marine Biologist, Eyal Rahav, and myself. Eyal had the concept and dreamed up the figure of Droplet and the basic story line. I did research and made the illustrations in pen&ink and watercolor. The drawings are both accurate and whimsical.
We are looking for publishers for two different editions—one in Hebrew and and one in English and Spanish. Both have translations by professionals, and both versions are ready for the press!
Eyal and his wife, who is also a marine scientist, have two small children, and from the beginning he wanted the book to be in both Hebrew and Arabic and to be dedicated to all children, wishing them and all of us to take care of each other and the oceans.
We look forward to editions in other pairs of languages. And I look forward to illustrating Droplet’s adventures in other watery places—Monterey Bay, California? Xochimilco, Mexico City? Aquifers in California? Water is everywhere, and wonderful creatures live in it and depend on it.

Dedication
For all children, may we live together peacefully and take care of each other and our oceans
The unpublished book has been market tested with many young children!
