The Floor is Your Friend

A few years ago I took a Feldenkrais class in Santa Cruz with Larry Goldfarb, founder of Mind in Motion. Toward the end of class he said, “If I ever wrote a children’s book, it would be called ‘The Floor is your friend.’” I rushed home after class to my art studio and sketched out the pages for this series, which became my first printed booklet!

A few years later, I created a second booklet,

What’s This Gadget For?

When I inherited my Great Aunt Maddie’s modest old summer place on a beautiful lake, I found that nothing had ever been thrown away.

As a tribute to both nature and culture, I made a visual quiz book combining images from both.

Droplet Visits the Ocean

Coming Soon!

A new picture book introducing children (ages 3-7) to the ocean

When a monsoon finally gives Droplet the chance to jump off her cloud, she embarks on a thrilling adventure.

Together with new friends, she discovers zones of the ocean from colorful coral reefs to the dark sea floor. By the end of her journey, Droplet understands the importance of water as the fragile home of so many strange, beautiful, and delightful creatures.

A charming and educational journey that will captivate young readers and create engaging opportunities to discuss the wonders of the ocean.

Currently seeking a publisher or agent representation

Droplet Visits the Ocean is a picture book introducing young children (ages 3-6) to the ocean, a collaboration a Professor of Marine Biologist, Eyal Rahav, and myself. Eyal had the concept and dreamed up the figure of Droplet and the basic story line. I did research and made the illustrations in pen&ink and watercolor. The drawings are both accurate and whimsical.

We are looking for publishers for two different editions—one in Hebrew and and one in English and Spanish. Both have translations by professionals, and both versions are ready for the press!

Eyal and his wife, who is also a marine scientist, have two small children, and from the beginning he wanted the book to be in both Hebrew and Arabic and to be dedicated to all children, wishing them and all of us to take care of each other and the oceans.

We look forward to editions in other pairs of languages. And I look forward to illustrating Droplet’s adventures in other watery places—Monterey Bay, California? Xochimilco, Mexico City? Aquifers in California? Water is everywhere, and wonderful creatures live in it and depend on it.
